The EX's Playlist

Well its been awhile since my last post, sorry about that, I just seemed to have lost motivation for awhile with lacrosse and school coming to an end but this playlist will definitely make up for my absence. This playlist is going out to all my ex girlfriends. I know sounds weird why would I want to dedicate a playlist to my ex girlfriends? Well (for the most part) I have stayed on really good terms with girls I've dated in the past. Also any girl I've ever dated has tried to rip all the songs from my iTunes because they like the music I listen to. Well heres your chance ladies. Special shout out to Alyssa Mccarthy (BC '12) this playlist is mostly for her. See you in a few weeks over a basket of chips and salsa at Chili's.

80s Music Tuesday

I was recently the victim of a vicious hate crime when my ipod was stolen at a party somewhere on Young Drive. You might be saying to yourself, "Why is that a hate crime?". In response I quote the great Michael Scott, "Well I hated it!". Anyways ...since then I have been using my mom's iPod and listening to all of her great 80s jams. Here are a few you might have forgotten about.

Artist of the Day: Mac Miller

This post is a little overdue considering Mac Miller is no longer an underground name and has burst onto the mainstream music scene, but it is still very necessary. Mac Miller is sick. Not much else needs to be said. I saw him open at the Whitt with Wiz Khalifa and if it were up to me Wiz would have opened for him. Mac killed it. Here are some of my favorite songs from him that you might not have heard.

Mash Up Monday

What is Dubstep?

I'm not really sure how to describe dubstep in words so I'll leave that to Dom.
But on a more serious note here are a few dubstep songs that are worth checking out.

Throw Back Thursday: 4

In my opinion I'd say that todays Throwback Thursday is one of the best I've ever posted, so sit back, relax, and enjoy all the childhood memories you have associated with these different things.

Music
Movies
Ferris Bueller's Day Off was a little before my time, but definitely a movie we all grew up with. This class movie still leaves everyone asking, "Bueller? Bueller?"
I'm a dude, shes a dude, hes a dude, We're all dudes, hey!

Out Cold single handedly inspired me to take up snowboarding... too bad snowboardings harder to pick up than skiing, thus the reason I continue to ski. Out Cold is also one of the first movies we see a young Zach Galifianakis show the world why he would soon become one of the funniest actors in history.
God I love this movie. Rick Moranis at his finest.
Another movie I wouldn't be embarrassed to watch today. Still an active member of the He-Man Woman Haters
TV Shows
Back before Nickelodeon got all gay and changed to just Nick or Teen Nick, these are a few shows I grew up on. Nickelodeon killed it in the 90s.

Misc.
Yo Yos were one of the coolest toys to have at recess until they got banned at my school because kids were using them as swinging assault weapons. What was the coolest Yo Yo trick you could do?

My vote goes to Roller Coaster Tycoon as the best computer game ever. Don't even sit there and tell me you didn't used to have one park were you would build a water slide or roller coaster with a steep drop followed by a quick incline without testing it first so you would launch your guests to their immidiate high speed death. Come on now.

Upgrade Your Steez: Swag of the Week

Snapbacks Are Back

In honor of Throwback Thursday this weeks steez upgrade is also a throwback; snapback hats. For a while there was an "underground movement" if you want to call it that of bros straying away from the 59 Fifty fitted hats and wearing vintage snap back hats made from a company called The Game. The only problem for the unlucky few that failed to save their Game hats from when they were little was that retro looking snapback were nearly impossible to find. Ebay had a bunch of these snapbacks, but the only way your were getting one was if if were willing to shell out some serious cash for a hat that was really worth 20 bucks. If I learned anything from the few Economic classes I attended freshman year was that were there is a demand there will be a supply and after some time without a supply companies like Zephyr, New Era, and Mitchell and Ness finally answered the demand with a whole new line of vintage looking snapbacks. After about 15 minutes of browsing different sites here are a collection of the top hats I found. Enjoy.

NFL Snapbacks

NBA Snapbacks

(This Suns hat is actually the real deal when it comes to being vintage. You can find hats like this on amazon.com)

NHL Snapbacks
(Another amazon find)

MLB Snapbacks
NCAA Snapbacks

MISC. Snapbacks

My top pick overall is the Oakland Raiders Mitchell and Ness, but why pick one?

Breeze Steez of the Week

Ladies and gentlemen.... Karl Gustav Lipsky.
Karl, better known around UNH as "Stav" or "Stavy" is the walking definition of bro. You can hear him coming a mile away with his signature cal of, "Whattttt upppp sahnnnn?" and has a fasination with the art of "slicing" (your going to have to ask Stav yourself if you want to know what that is). There are 4 places you are likely to find Stav when hes not in class. The first place is 8 Coe Drive where he likes to hang out with his fellow TKE bros, watch tv, and party. The next place is Loon mountain in the terrain park. Stav grew up in Stowe Vermont so needless to say the kid can shred when it comes to skiing.
As you can see from this picture of Karl he can throw down. I ski and theres no way I'm trying to fuck with the things he does in the T park. The third place you can find Stavy is the gym. As a very active member of the UNH Crew Team Stav is all about hitting the erg. He's all about staying ripped up and wearing sleevless tees or lax pinnys to let people know whats up.
The last place you're likely to find him is TKE were he is an active brother.
In the spirit of this blog I'm sending this  two songs out to Stav as a representation of how he likes to get down on weekends.

I see you Stavy.

Country Music Tuesday

I've received a few "complaints" if I'd even call them that about the lack of country music representation on this blog. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing better on a warm sunny day than driving in your car and blasting country. Here are some of my favorite country songs to help enhance your spring day drinking and spring driving. (not spring drinking and driving)

Daily Serving of Bro-tien: Bro Snacks

At the top of my list for most "bro" foods ever is the Buffalo Chicken Calzone. Whenever I come home from school or whenever I'm at school hanging out with my friends Buffalo Chicken Calzones are the top choice for food. My personal recommendation is to get a side of blue cheese dressing on the side, but ranch is also a very popular choice.
In Durham:
The only good place to find a buff chick cal in Durham is Wildcat Pizza. They are personal sized but are definitely the best in town. Mabe the new pizza place coming to Durham will have a good one but the remains to be seen.
Outside of Durham:
In Massachusetts there are two places that stand alone in the debate for best Buff Chick Cal: Omega Pizza in Wrentham and Crowe Point Pizzeria in Hingham. One stupid night my friends and I went to both places to try and compare these calzones and what we found was that Omega's calzones were more expensive but had less cheese and dough and more chicken with a far superior Blue cheese. Crowe point was less expensive with more cheese and dough but still good. Which place is better is up to you to decide.

Artist of the Day: Moosh & Twist: OCD

Moosh & Twist: OCD are two seniors in High School from Philly who are perfect for this website. They are relatively unknown and are worth giving a chance. I was recommended to these guys by my long time friend Kevin Blackmur a sophomore lax bro at Lynchburg. Thanks again Kevin.
Here are Kevin's top 5 from Moosh & Twist: OCD and I stand behind his recommendation. He knows his shit when it comes to good music.

Throwback Thursday: 4

Music:
Movies:
Space Jame was awesome. Distracted everyone from the fact that Michael Jordan was a jerk in real life with a gambling problem. Don't get me wrong hes still my hero.
As a young kid when this movie came out it was pretty rad. Not so much now.
First rated R movie I was ever allowed to see. Yeah it was cool to brag to all my friends that I had officially seen a rated R movie but when I saw it I was too young to truly appreciate what an epic movie this was.
"King Kong aint got shit on me!" ...That about sums it up for Training Day. Great movie.

Misc:

As a kid I would beg my parents every weekend to take me to LaserZone in Randolph Massachusetts. Laser Tag was by far one of the coolest things to do in 2000. As time went on and I become a junior in High School I found myself back at LaserZone playing drunk laser tag with my ex girlfriend and all of her fiends. Makes me feel a little bit like a degenerate thinking back on it because I'm sure all the little ninos there saw us acting like idiots and looked to us as role models of how they should act. Damn.
You aren't an OG when it comes to first person shooter games if you didn't have Counter Strike as a computer game.
This is going way back to the days of elementary school. Coming from New England you were not cool if you didn't have a Patriots Starter Jacket and/or Hat. Myself, I had a Green Bay Packers jacket because I used to think Brett Favre was the man until he turned into a dick pic texting, grey headed, crying pussy. I stand behind that statement.
You can't honestly look me in the eye and tell me that you didn't have a pair of these shoes growing up. Thanks Run DMC.
